For the construction of its elements, Amatex S. A. uses the Pinus sylvestris (commonly known as the Soria Pine, Valsan Pine, Red Pine, Swedish Pine). Wood of this type differs from all other pine in its extraordinary quality and high resistance to breakage and rot, given its limited annual growth.
As a protection for the wood, the Bethell autoclave system is used with level IV vacuum-pressure protection and type P8 penetration.
Amatex has the widest range of autoclaves in Spain, which facilitates a great production capacity and the widest variety of treatments, from the classic treatment with arsenic and chrome-free salts, to the most revolutionary and unique in our country for fireproofing and protecting wood up to a B1 classification (previously M1).
Its treatments comply with all the established standards in relation to quality:
- UNE-EN 335-2:1994 Durability of the wood and its derivate materials. Biological Attack risk category. Solid wood application.
- UNE-EN 351-1:1996 Durability of the wood and the products derived therefrom. Solid wood treated with protective products. Classification of the penetrations and retentions of the protective products
Both our clients and the environment benefit from the excellence of our end product. The wood used comes exclusively from classified forests managed by Public Authorities and from where a sustainable exploitation of the forests is rigorously applied (PEFC certified wood). Building elements using this material require a lower energetic consumption than if other materials such as concrete or steel were used, as well as forming part of the draining effect of CO2.
